Jocelyn Lippey completed her general surgery FRACS through the Austin Hospital in 2013. She underwent post Fellowship training through BreastSurgANZ at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in 2014 and Perth in 2015 working at Royal Perth and Fiona Stanley Hospitals. She specializes in breast and general surgery with a strong interest in oncoplastic and reconstructive breast surgery.

 

She was the 2015 recipient of the John Collins Medal from the ANZBCTG for young surgical researchers and is a current recipient of an NBCF practitioners grant to develop a risk communication tool as part of a risk-stratified Breast screening trial, as well as doing clinical work at The Northern Hospital and  St Vincents BreastScreen.

 

She has a strong interest in teaching, co-ordinating a unit of study for The University of Sydney’s Masters of Breast Surgery, as well as being an instructor on two Royal Australasian College of Surgeon courses for junior surgical trainees. She also teaches medical students at The Northern Hospital Clinical School. Her research interests include early breast cancer, risk communication, tailored breast screening and DCIS as well as oncoplastic and reconstructive surgery.

 

In her free time she loves running, bushwalking, snowboarding, scuba diving and spending time with her two children.
